Endpoint Activation Process
What Makes an Endpoint Active?
An Endpoint becomes active when it's placed into an Endpoint Group by the customer. This triggers:
- Assignment of routing policies and network configurations
- Ability to connect to the network and pass data
Customer's Role in Activation
An Endpoint can be activated in two ways:
-
Direct activation: You can assign from the tenant inventory directly to a customer AND endpoint group (immediately active)
-
Customer activation: You can assign it to the customer inventory only. The customer can then handle technical activation in their portal:
- They create Endpoint Groups in their customer portal
- They assign routing policies and network configurations
- They move Endpoints from inventory into active groups
- They manage the technical aspects of connectivity
