Add Bundle Elements

Add Bundle Elements

  • From within the bundle config, navigate to the Bundle Elements tab.

  • Click on ADD ELEMENT

There are two Service Types available: Data and Waiver Network Access Charge, each of which can optionally have an associated Traffic Profile.

Details
DataThe actual data allocation (1GB, 500MB, etc.)
Waiver Network Access ChargeFor endpoints using this bundle, don't charge any network access fees during the bundle period.
Traffic ProfileDefines bandwidth throttling levels, setting maximum upload/download speeds from 1 Gbit/s down to 64 Kbit/s.

When setting up up a Data Bundle Element you would need to specify the following fields

ItemDetails
Initial QuotaSpecifies the amount of data included in the bundle. This field is required.
Usage Warning PercentageDefines a usage warning threshold (e.g. 80%). A usage warning event is triggered when the threshold is reached. This field is optional.
Usage TypeIndicates whether Standard or Fair Usage rules apply
PriorityDefines the order in which data bundle elements are applied when multiple are active. This field is required.

Click CREATE once you have completed the required details.

Bundle Element Priorities

Priority within Bundle Elements allows Tenants to defines the order in which data bundle elements are consumed when multiple are active.

Standard Usage

Data is consumed in order of priority (P1 → P2 → P3), moving to the next when once the current one runs out, following the traffic profile while the bundle is active.

Fair Usage

These are only consumed once all the Active and Armed Standard Usage elements have been exhausted. They are typically configured with a lower data throughout compared to Standard Usage bundle elements.

Use Case

A customer buys an “Unlimited” SIM, which actually includes:

  • 25GB at normal speed
  • After 25GB, unlimited data at reduced speed (fair usage)

This is set up as one bundle with two parts:

  • A 25GB data allowance at full speed
  • A fair usage element that provides unlimited data at a slower speed

How It Works

  • The customer first uses the 25GB at normal speed
  • If they buy another bundle before using it all, that bundle is held (armed) and ready
  • Once the 25GB is used up, the system checks for any new bundles
  • If a new bundle is available, it is used next at normal speed
  • If no other bundles are available, the system then switches to fair usage (reduced speed)

Key Point

Fair usage data is only used when there are no other bundles available.

Usage Flow

Geographic Coverage:

Using the zone scheme (think of it as a map), you can specify exactly where your bundle works:

  • Country Level: Select the country and the bundle will work with the providers in that country, eg: "United Kingdom" and your data works on all UK networks
  • Network Specific: You can optionally select individual providers within any country eg: Choose individual networks like O2, Vodafone, EE.

Waive Network Access Charges

Network access charges are fees that some mobile carriers impose when an endpoint first connects to their network within a billing period (usually monthly). Think of it like a "connection fee" - even if your device only uses a tiny bit of data, you might get charged just for accessing the network in the first place.

When you add a "Waive Network Access Charges" element to your bundle, you're essentially telling the system: "For endpoints using this bundle, don't charge any network access fees during the bundle period."

Note: These charges still apply—they’re simply included in the bundle, so no out-of-bundle credit is needed. Make sure they’re considered when pricing the bundle.

Adding Multiple Geographic Elements

Stacuity offers flexibility with bundles and you can attach elements covering multiple countries with different allowances

  1. If you are not already in the master bundle, select it by click the Edit icon
  2. Ensure you are have the Bundle Elements tab selected
  3. Click add element
  4. Create a second element following the same process (above)
  5. Set different quota (e.g., 500 MB for France)
  6. Configure it for the country and networks
  7. Click update to add this element to definition to the bundle.

It is essential to align the operator policy with the bundle elements, as any inconsistencies may lead to a poor user experience. Specifically, the country and network settings defined in the bundle elements must match those specified in the operator policy.

Bundle Action buttons

  • Suspend : This will pause the selected bundle.
  • Resume : This will restart the selected bundle.
  • Edit: Takes you to the Bundle definition screen - here you can edit the bundle and elements
  • Delete: Delete the selected bundle
  • Clone: Create a copy of this bundle.

You can view the elements in a bundle by expanding the bundle name
